Abstract

It may be stated that in economically advanced countries of the world the increase in the recreation volume, expressed by the number of tourists, is considerably higher than the population growth. The reason why these two trends are not in proportion should be sought in changes in social environment, primarily in the altered impact of its components on the pattern and scope of needs of human society as a whole, including tourism and recreation. These statements hold good also of this country, the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic.
