Introduction
In keeping with the other Special Issues which have published papers from the International Conferences on the Application and Development of Computer Games held in Hong Kong, this issue contains a number of papers presented at the 3rd ADCOG conference on 26-27 April 2004. The papers, by Cheng and Chu, Gao, Kerbs and Kwan, were specially selected because of the aspects they covered which could relate to issues and problems also faced by libraries and information centres. The paper by Scatteia, although not presented at the ADCOG conference, fits in with the issue of computer games and also contains issues of interest to libraries. One of the ADCOG papers dealt with cybercafés in East Asia, and is complemented by another paper giving the picture of cybercafés in Africa.
