Foundation sets up international centre

Keywords: Research, Qualifications, Mathematics, Teachers, Salaries

The National Foundation for Educational Research has set up an international centre to promote the foundation's work worldwide and to develop new projects.

The centre hosts the national unit for England, Wales and Northern Ireland of Eurydice, the European education-information network which provides policymakers with information on education policies and the structure of education systems throughout Europe.

The centre also carries out an annual review of curriculum and assessment frameworks in 16 countries, on behalf of the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority.

Studies on aims and values, primary education and mathematics education have also been completed. In addition, the centre has examined the training and recruitment of teachers, teacher exchanges in the EU and teachers' salaries and performance-related pay.
