The European Commission has issued a list of the 137 successful projects for 1999 in the Jean Monnet programme, which supports academic initiatives that contribute to spreading knowledge on European integration and the EU.
Italy tops the list, with 28 projects, followed by France (20), Britain (18), Germany (17), Spain (15), Greece (9), Portugal (6), Austria (5), Finland (5), Denmark (3), Ireland (3), Sweden (3), Belgium (2), The Netherlands (2) and Luxembourg (1).
