Keywords Training agencies

National training organizations have been given a central role in providing better quality labour-market and skills information for the Learning and Skills Council. Malcolm Wicks, Minister for Lifelong Learning, said at the launch of the NTOs' labour-market research network: "This network is uniquely placed to draw together and represent all employment sectors. Collectively, it has a vital role to deliver an effective learning-information service for industry, to identify and spread good practice and to help the Learning and Skills Council to assess skill needs and prepare workforce-development strategies. My message is that they should regard themselves as at the forefront in meeting the challenges ahead."
