New Euromed youth programme adopted

New Euromed youth programme adopted

The European Commission has adopted Euromed Youth II – a programme of exchanges, voluntary work and training activities aimed at young people of the EU member states and those of the non-EU Mediterranean territories. Euromed Youth II will run from 2002 to 2004, with a budget of 14 million euros. This is a 40 per cent increase on the budget for Euromed Youth I. The Mediterranean territories covered are Algeria, Cyprus, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Malta, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia and Turkey.
