The average cost of public conveniences is £1,407/m2 of gross internal floor area (GIFA), according to the latest BCIS Surveys of Tender Prices[1]. Figure 1 shows that the cost can vary between approximately £650-£2,450/m2 GIFA based on second quarter 1998 prices. The costs exclude external works and contingencies, the costs of preliminaries being apportioned by value.
