Gas safety; HSE launches Web site

Gas safety HSE launches Web site

Keywords Gas industry, Health & Safety

The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) has launched a new gas safety Web site as part of its ongoing publicity campaign aimed at drawing attention to the dangers of carbon monoxide (CO) from poorly installed or badly maintained gas appliances and flues.

The gas Web site offers for the first time a range of gas safety advice, information and leaflets at the touch of a button.

Alun Williams, Head of Gas Safety Review Division said: "HSE's new Web site is yet another tool in further reinforcing the gas safety message. All gas consumers should have their gas appliances properly installed and regularly maintained and checked for safety annually. Make sure all this work is only carried out by a CORGI registered gas installer."

HSE's Web site can be found at HSE's Gas Safety home page on the World Wide Web: http:www.openm.gov.uk/hse/gas/index.htm
