Johnson Controls IFM, one of the UK's largest facilities management companies, has made a pledge to the UK's children, by signing up to the Children's Promise, a new charity fund-raising campaign.
The Children's Promise aims to encourage workers to give the value of their final hour's earnings in this millennium to the children of the next. Johnson Controls' 2,500 employees stands to make a substantial donation to charities including Barnardo's, Childline and Comic Relief.
"Statistically there could be a child in every street who is facing abuse, has run away, is excluded from school, suffers poverty - the Children's Promise is our chance to make a difference", says marketing manager Sarah Hallett:
- •
The children's charity brings together, for the first time, seven major charities working with children.
- •
The Children's Promise is part of The National Programme of Millennium activity and has been made possible thanks to the backing and commitment of Marks & Spencer.
