Growing in importance and increasing relevance to all those involved in the care sector comes a new resource for service providers, local authorities and other social care professionals alike … The new Scottish Care Services Forum at: www.careservicesforum.com

This site is growing every day, with members from various service providers, local authority supporting people teams and other care professionals involved in the delivery of care services in Scotland. The purpose – to aid discussion and networking in the Scottish care sector.

With the introduction of so much new legislation in the care sector, for many it has been like walking through a mine-field. With the arrival of the Care Commission and the introduction of new funding regimes such as Supporting People, service providers, local authorities, and other care professionals have been left dizzy with the additional workload of regulation.

This is why the Scottish Care Services Forum has been set up – to facilitate you with all the information in the Scottish care sector you need. It is here to assist you to engage with others as well as enabling you to network and debate on the many issues arising within this sector:

  • find out what others are thinking;

  • find out what the national and local issues are;

  • what other providers are doing, their strategies and documents;

  • keep up to date on issues regarding the Care Commission;

  • get your views across to the people that matter;

  • help to shape the future of Supporting People funding; and

  • debate the issues with other professionals.

The Scottish Care Services Forum enables you to share best practice, voice your opinion and seek the best advice through its discussion forums that include:

  • children and your peoples services;

  • early education and childcare;

  • housing support services;

  • other care services including adults, hospice care and day services; and

  • general topics including housing benefit, Freedom of Information Act and faith-based organisations.

It’s free to register with the Scottish Care Services Forum, access all the information you need, ask the questions you need answering, as well as sharing your views about all that’s going on in the Scottish care sector!

This site is simple and easy to navigate and registration is easy. Any information you give will be kept completely confidential and not passed on to any other body. Get involved and add your voice to the care sectors online discussion forum in Scotland.

There is also a private forum for local authority staff working with care services in Scotland. All forums are professionally moderated, and offer a valuable tool in driving issues forward, sharing best practice and providing an arena for national debate about the issues that matter.

The site will also be developing its services to provide a comprehensive database of every care service in Scotland and a jobs section dedicated to the care sector in Scotland.
