The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and Index Medical Centre, recently signed an memorandum of understanding (MOU) to support the Mosaadah (assistance) program, which aims to provide medical treatment to patients with financial constraints.

The Mosaadah program is one of the key initiatives of the DHA. Through this program, the authority reaches out to both locals and non-locals who requirement medical treatment but cannot afford it.

The MoU was signed by His Excellency Engineer Essa Al Maidoor, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority and Dr Abdul Salam Al Madani, Chairman of Index Holding in presence of Salim bin Lahej, Head of the Mosaadah program, Ahmed Al Assad, Deputy-Director of the Mossadah program and a number of high-ranking officials.

HE Al Maidoor highlighted the importance of such initiatives which are important to help alleviate the suffering of the needy and to ensure that they have access to high-quality care. He appreciated the efforts of the Index Group and said that this program aims to provide needy patients with access to high-level care.

Dr Al Madani added that Index group is keen to provide medical assistance to patients who have financial constraints and need treatment. He added that the Index Medical Centre, which is located in Dubai Healthcare City, provides a broad spectrum of treatment options across fields such as cardiology, general surgery, paediatrics, oncology, gynaecology etc.

Salem bin Lahej, head of the Mosaadah program said: “In 2012, the program reached out to 317 patients and we spent Dh 450,000 on their treatment and Dh 100,000 on equipment for them which includes beds, wheelchairs, oxygen machine etc. We are very thankful to the various sponsors who helped us in our endeavour. We believe that this MoU will provide a further boost to this initiative.”

He said patients with various medical conditions including burns, cardiac problems, cancer patients etc. were provided treatment through this initiative.
