Article Type: Editorial From: International Journal of Operations & Production Management, Volume 33, Issue 6
It was with great sadness that we heard of the passing of our good friend, Professor Bob Johnston, from Warwick Business School. Bob was a man who was pragmatic about operations management – always! Who could fail to warm to him when, if dining with him at a restaurant, Bob would point out, quite rightly, some of the failings in the service operations provided by the restaurant! Bob was well known and well liked within the POM community – he was a great academic and a great man. It is, therefore, fitting that two colleagues who knew him well, Professor Nigel Slack and Professor Chris Voss, have shared some thoughts on Bob Johnston in this issue. Our best wishes go out to Professor Bob Johnston’s family.
