A training centre to help companies overcome the disappointment of applications that fail to work when switched on has opened in the City of London. Cresta Group has introduced what it calls an Enterprise Testing Education Centre that aims to help people test applications such as SAP, Siebel, Oracle and PeopleSoft.

A spokesman said the centre was aiming to help two levels of individuals: the "anoraks" who get right into the nuts and bolts of a system and other people who need to learn more about specific tests on specific products.

The centre is open 12 hours a day and is in the City to encourage busy people to "drop in". The spokesman described one of its main features, the eCafe, as a refreshing and innovative approach to supervised self-learning in a modern, informal learning environment.
