Visitors to the BedZED Visitor Centre: Beddington Zero Energy Development – the UK’s flagship environmental housing and workspace project in Surrey – are now greeted with a new bespoke reception unit designed and manufactured by Blue Line, which claims to be Europe’s first Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified office furniture manufacturer. FSC certification is said to denote the highest standard of sustainable forestry management in the world.

Blue Line manufactures a range of FSC-certified standard office, executive and boardroom furniture, media walls, receptions, etc from FSC-certified timbers and can also produce matching veneered architectural wall panels and specialist furniture for dealing rooms and control centres. The company claims to be a pioneering “green” manufacturer, operating initiatives such as recycling its offcuts, converting its sawdust into compost, and buying back its old products for refurbishment and resale.
