Mail and save me
Stressed workers welcome interruptions and distractions provided by incoming e-mails. It even makes then more productive according to a recent British study.
A survey of workers at a multinational blue-chip company, a charity and a consultancy found e-mail interruptions could actually boost productivity – it seems the break offers a form of “recovery time” which lowers the stress of a tight deadline. For others, the e-mail might simply be more interesting than boring, repetitive work – again a form of “recovery time”.
