Luxembourg workers are the third most productive in the world, trailing only the USA and Ireland, according to a recent report issued by the International Labour Office of the United Nations.
The average Luxembourg worker produces USD 55,641 of wealth per year. The USA is first at USD 63,885 of wealth per year, with Ireland second at USD 55,986. Belgium places fourth at USD 55,235 and France workers in fifth place at USD 54,609. But see the item on Union Gains above – these figures reflect very different working patterns. The problem with data is it tells you what it tells you – it does not necessarily tell you all you need to know!
