While much has been said about the various business opportunities offered by Web 2.0 technologies such as wikis, cloud computing, social networking and so on […] most managers still see them as time wasters. Matthew Fraser and Soumitra Dutta of INSEAD recently pointed out, the real value of these new technologies is that they allow the knowledge that exists within a company to be shared and dispersed because these technologies take it out of institutional “silos” and unnecessary hierarchy and “security” making it available for exploitation.
