Green buildings raise productivity

Article Type: News From: International Journal of Productivity and Performance Management, Volume 59, Issue 4

A recent event titled “Do green buildings make dollars and sense” suggested that green (environmentally friendly) buildings do not save as much in operating costs as first thought. However, occupancy tends to be higher (they are attractive to potential occupiers) and the productivity of those occupants is higher – with fewer sick days reported. The result is a 4.88 per improvement of productivity according to this Los Angeles based survey.
