Baltic region reviews sustainable development
The Baltic region has made progress towards sustainable development, but transport CO2 emissions and nutrient loads in the Baltic Sea are growing problems, according to a five-year review of Baltic 21, the regional sustainability programme. In their report to prime ministers, representatives from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland and Russia meeting in Estonia this week recommended focusing future efforts on fewer, bigger, bolder projects.
