Fee for processing third party ILL claims

Fee for processing third party ILL claims

The British Library Document Supply Centre (BLDSC) has recently introduced an administration fee for processing third party ILL claims. The charge, introduced from 1 October 2001, is to recover only the costs of providing this service, costs that are now significantly lower because of the introduction of the new customer accounts. The charge will be 10p per satisfied supply and will be levied on the borrower, either as a supplement on the price of the BL Interlibrary Request Form (i.e. £2.00 per pack of 20) or as an additional charge when debiting supplies from locations. This does not affect the postal forms used to order items from the BLDSC.

Specific instructions on how to claim from the BLDSC for items supplied to other libraries are contained in the new Directory of Library Codes.
