DryLin linear bearing systems

DryLin linear bearing systems

DryLin linear bearing systems from igus have maintenance-free iglidur J polymer bearings containing a solid lubricant to give a low and stable coefficient of friction. Bush bore sizes are from 5 to 50mm and the bushes are interchangeable with conventional linear ball bearings. The bores of the bushes have axial grooves to accommodate any dirt or dust so that shaft wipers are not needed. The ideal sliding counterface for DryLin bushes is said to be anodised aluminium, saving on the expense of chromium plated steel shafts.

iglidur M250 is one of 12 bearing materials developed by igus to provide a maintenance-free solution. Having a solid lubricant embedded throughout the wall thickness of the bearing ensures that lubrication is consistent, even in the event of excessive bearing wear.

A range of standard sizes is available ex-stock providing interchangeability with conventional oil-filled sintered and steel-backed PTFE type plain bearings. iglidur M250 has a number of significant advantages, as well as the dry running self-lubricating characteristic.

Thick walls provide excellent dampening of vibration, 250 times better than steel. Impact resistance is high and bearings have the ability to run in what would normally be an aggressive environment. Dust, sand and dirt present no threat to this igus polymer bearing.

Unlike other types of bearings, iglidur M250 remains quiet in operation throughout its life. Slow rotational and oscillating motions do not adversely affect the material.
