Life prediction of polymers
ERA Technology has just published a report entitled Life Prediction of Polymers by John Greenwood. It is no longer possible to prove a product over its design life before it is produced and in service, it is therefore necessary to assess the lifetime of a polymer component at the design stage. This is particularly so when the location makes it difficult to maintain, inspect or replace, or where the environment means that maintenance or replacement must be minimised. This report describes how the lifetime can be assessed and guaranteed for longer-term applications using numerical prediction.
