Fluid power products - OCCO coolers

Fluid power products OCCO coolers

Keyword: Coolers

The OCCO range of coolers are closed circuit, sealed system types, which are therefore not subject to COSSH regulations. In many cases they can replace cooling towers but without the need for registration and inspection by HSOs.

They provide safe and reliable methods of carrying heat away from production machines, process plant, high power electrics, hydraulic systems, etc. Their overall running costs are low pump and fan motors only. Heat recovery is easily exploited from the dry, safe, warm exhaust air.

Compared with cooling towers, the closed-circuit coolers are maintenance free since the water is in a sealed system where anti-freeze or simple heating methods are easy to apply. Leakage caused by corrosion is eliminated since the water is chemically inert and chemical dosing is not required. Reliability levels are close to those found with the sealed system in a car.

Also available is a vast range of heat exchangers with complementary thermostats, controls, valves and pumps.

OCCO Coolers' popular KG Range of air blown oil coolers are now benefiting from substantially lower prices. The high strength, brazed aluminium radiator is a major component, and is made in Germany by AKG. The sustained strength of the pound has led to effective cost reductions. These, with other savings, have allowed substantial price cuts across the range, more than 25 per cent on some sizes.

There is no reduction in the technical specification of the radiator's construction and performance, being made by the same process to the highest of quality levels. In fact, included in the new lower prices, are recent introductions of "user friendly" features. They include: reversible rads, to give a choice of front or rear connection points; drain and vent plugs, which can be fitted with probes or thermostats; ultra-quiet fans, especially useful on the larger sizes.

Many of OCCO's other cooler range costs have also benefited and here the savings have led to removal of the usual price increases owing to inflation.

The new, lower prices are effective immediately for small or large quantities. They will be particularly useful to machine builders and plant constructors.
