The Formel-Q Prize 1998 of the Volkswagen Group has been awarded to Tribol GmbH, an international company within the Burmah Castrol Group of Companies (see Plate 3).
Each year, Volkswagen honours a select few of their suppliers with this prestigious award. The companies so honoured are defined through their outstanding and consistent world-class quality and performance. Tribol GmbH and its employees have excelled as a company specialising in high performance lubricant production as well as service and maintenance.

For the first time ever the Volkswagen Group has chosen a lubricant company from among the many thousands of their suppliers to receive this award.

The award was presented by Dr Ferdinand Piëch, Chairman of Volkswagen and other members of the board to the Managing Director of Tribol Gmb H. The presentation took place last September on board the MS Deutschland in Sardinia, Italy (see Plate 4).
