Master Chemical expand their tailored fluid management team

Out-sourcing the management of indirect materials is a growing trend and one for which Master Chemical Europe is now able to meet an increased range of needs. Known as The Coolant Management Company, Master Chemical has for many years offered its customers tailored fluid management programmes to ensure maximum production uptime and minimum disposal liability. Its involvement can even extend to the appointment of an on-site co-ordinator, an option being successfully applied at Lucas Diesel Systems. An OEM may simply require the supply and recycling of coolants but increasingly companies are calling for total fluid management. This can include everything from wash fluids to lubricants, oils and even maintenance. As well as managing its own metalworking consumables and hardware, Master Chemical is increasingly being asked to manage the supply of other fluids. Accordingly, for many manufacturers, Master Chemical now purchases and manages the supply of these fluids on the customers behalf.

To enhance the company's proven ability to deliver such tailored service and support, Master Chemical Europe has expanded its team. Heading the list of new appointments is David Hargreaves, a man with considerable experience in contract planning and management. David has joined Master Chemical from Cincinnati Milacron after 18 years service with the company. In his most recent post as national accounts manager, he was responsible for the sale of water-based cutting fluids to all major industrial groups. An important aspect of his job was to design and install complete fluid management systems.

As Master Chemical's new technical support manager, David's principal task will be to assess manufacturers' specific needs and propose a suitable programme. He will also be responsible for the Europe-wide sale of wash fluids and for providing technical back-up to Master Chemical's growing network of European distributors. Another of David's key roles will be to forge even closer working relationships with machine tool builders.
