Wolverhampton-based Stuart Oil Group has taken over the lubricants division of a US business.

The DA Stuart Group has acquired the assets of the Naico Chemical Company's flat rolled steel, aluminium and can-making lubricants business.

Naico services the specialist lubricant needs of customers worldwide, including North and South America, Europe and Asia Pacific.

Fred Jones, Managing Director of Stuart Oil in Wolverhampton, said: "This acquisition is a perfect fit for us because it brings valuable complementary products, services and personnel to our organisation.

"It will strengthen our international presence in the steel rolling, corrosion preventive, aluminium and two-piece can industry. It will certainly strengthen the presence of our operations in the world marketplace".

The DA Stuart Group is a leading manufacturer and marketer of specialist lubricants for industries including steelmaking, aluminium rolling, can making, automotive, aerospace, metalworking and mining.

The company is a division of the multi-national Werhahn conglomerate, which has annual worldwide sales of more than $3.5 billion.

Naico is the largest provider of water treatment and process chemicals, services and systems in the world, with annual sales of almost $1.6 billion.
