Lead-free motoring - but only with secondary treatment?

Keywords: Lead, Fuel

Over the next few months as leaded fuel disappears from the service station forecourts motorists will be seeking ways of keeping their "lead-sensitive" classic cars on the road. One method will be to use a special fuel treatment together with ordinary unleaded fuel.

The Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs, as a result of a testing programme commissioned at MIRA, has now endorsed four products. These are: Millers VSP-Plus, Red Line Lead Substitute, Superblend Zero Lead 2000 and Valvemaster.
