Infineum, one of the world's leading suppliers of petroleum additives, in October 2000 hosted its first European lubricating oil additive seminar.

Building on the success of similar Infineum seminars held across The Americas earlier this year, the European event, hosted at Infineum's business and technology centre in Abingdon, was attended by over 75 delegates from across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

The two and a half day event included presentations covering every aspect of the lubricant additive industry, from passenger car motor oils to marine engines and industrial lubricants. In addition there was an insight into the fundamentals of lubrication and formulation chemistry and a detailed look at field and engine testing.

Malcolm Rose, Infineum's head of marketing communications, and chair of the European seminar comments:

Environmental drivers and constantly changing product specifications mean the lubricant and lubricant additive industries are becoming increasingly complex. Our European seminar aimed to provide an overview of current industry issues and detailed insight into the latest developments in lubricant additive technology.
