Better performance, Lower operating costs

Better performance. Lower operating costsKeywords: Coolants, Master Chemical Europe

Cleaner machine tools, prolonged coolant life and lower operating costs are the three main benefits that Stanley Tools has experienced since making the switch to TRIM C270 synthetic coolant for surface and edge grinding. Such has been the impact of this non-chlorinated formulation from Master Chemical Europe at Stanley Tools, that it is now the preferred choice for all its grinding machines.

TRIM C270 is a fluid concentrate which is compatible with a very wide range of materials including cast iron, steels, copper alloys, plastics and composites. It also inhibits corrosion on all common ferrous and non-ferrous alloys.

As Stanley Tools has testified, TRIM C270 is formulated to keep machines clean whilst leaving a soft, resoluble fluid film that protects internal workings and minimises the build-up of sticky residues which can harbour damaging, abrasive chips. The cleanliness of TRIM C270 is also attributable to its excellent filterability through positive media filtration systems, its ease of filtering results in extended regeneration times and reduced media usage.

At its Stanley Works site in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, the company manufactures craft knife blades and chisels from carbon steel (Plate 2). The man responsible for adopting TRIM C270 was Neil Beaumont. He confirmed, "TRIM C270 has exceptional cooling ability and low foam." "Coolant life is much longer and we are therefore saving costs," Mr Beaumont concludes. An important benefit of this fluid is extremely low carry-off which maximises coolant return to the sump and contributes to low operating costs.
