Free advice on component testing from Zwick

To enable users to take maximum advantage of the new "Basicline" series of low-cost digital testers the Zwick Roell Group has launched a free service to determine the best way to test awkward components on the benchtop machines.

Thought to be the first in the testing industry, the no-obligations service aims to show how "Basicline" machines are set up for component configurations, surfaces, sizes and assemblies that would otherwise be difficult to test effectively.

Zwick believes manufacturers keen to assure themselves of their products "fitness for purpose to meet customers" requirements will welcome the service.

Anyone needing free guidance on test methods should send the component to the Zwick offices in Leominster.

Zwick engineers will carry out the tests needed to meet the relevant standards on a "Basicline" machine or equivalent and recommend appropriate techniques, tooling and fixturing. Where appropriate, video footage of the testing process will be provided.

The work will normally be carried out at Leominster but, if more detailed investigations are needed, components can be referred to the Zwick Roell Group's applications laboratory in Ulm. This comprehensive facility is equipped for the most exhaustive test operations and is backed by archives covering all manner of component testing throughout the world.
