Dow Corning Corporation has announced a line of mineral oil lubricants specially formulated to provide reliable lubrication in addition to oxidation resistance. Molykote^® Multilub grease, Omnigliss spray, and Multigliss dispersion combine the benefits of lubricants and corrosion inhibitors, and are available in a wide range of application options.

Molykote Multilub high performance grease

A high-performance grease formulated for metal/metal combinations involving slow to fast movements and medium to high loadings, Molykote Multilub is used for lubrication and reduction of wear on cranes, fork lift trucks and lifting apparatus. In addition to good corrosion resistance, Multilub also offers water washout resistance, making it suitable for use even in the presence of moisture and spray. Because of its low oil evaporation, Molykote Multilub provides reliable long-term lubrication throughout a service range of -25 to 120°C.

Molykote Multigliss dispersion

Molykote Multigliss provides unparalleled penetration and rust- loosening properties. Solvent and corrosion inhibitors penetrate and break down corrosion on badly rusted machine parts, allowing a combination of mineral oil and solid lubricants to provide effective lubrication. Multigliss dispersion's spray-can application allows improved penetration into corrosion buildup.

Molykote Omnigliss spray quick- action penetrating agent

Molykote Omnigliss spray is a penetrating agent incorporating corrosion protection, water-repellence and lubricant properties. Formulated for improved penetration and water repellence, Omnigliss is suitable for frictional contacts running at low to medium speeds which are not equipped with grease nipples or oiling holes. Typical applications include joints, levers, chains and other components of transport and conveyor equipment, textile machinery, automatic filling units and all types of packaging equipment. Omnigliss spray provides high pressure resistance and temporary corrosion protection.

Also recently introduced is Molykote^® G-2003 high performance grease for long-term lubrication on plastic/metal and plastic/plastic combinations in automotive applications. Formulated for medium to fast movements and medium loadings, Molykote G-2003 grease is commonly used on window lifters, sliding roofs, seat adjusters, steering locks, and door-lock systems.

Based on synthetic hydrocarbon, the lithium-thickened Molykote^® G-2003 grease has a wide service range of -50 to 140°C. It also provides good water and oxidation resistance, stability against water wash out, and is suitable for applications requiring exceptional performance at low temperatures. Molykote^® G-2003 has an NLGI Class 2 rating.
