http://www.kuka.de/KUKA Homepage

Since 1971, KUKA has managed to become the world's fifth largest robot manufacturer and the second largest in Europe. Apart from robots, KUKA also produces linear units, controllers and a range of software products. The KUKA Website is written in both English and German and split into two parts, looking at the different areas of the company. The Roboter GmbH site is very impressive, being well laid out and easy to navigate. The use of streamed graphics allows for very fast download times. There is plenty of product, company and sales information, services offered by KUKA, games and screen savers to keep you amused and lots more.

http://robotics.stanford.edu/Stanford Robotics Laboratory

The Stanford Robotics Laboratory is descended from the Stanford Hand-Eye Project launched in the mid-1960s and is aimed at making robots autonomous and dextrous. This work includes navigation, machine learning, manipulation control, vision and image understanding, tactile sensing and reasoning. A combination of these skills should enable an increase in the self sufficiency of existing robots and allow them to accomplish delicate tasks.

http://cs.uiowa.edu/reu/summer95/Ovo-Dafe/ovo/ovo.htmlOff-Line Robot Programming and Simulation

This site contains information about a project undertaken by a student at the University of Iowa. The project looks at the design of an Off-Line Robot Programming Environment for the Unimation PUMA 560 industrial robot. Both forward and inverse kinematics are discussed, along with forward dynamics and trajectory generation. With no frills, this site presents the work undertaken both simply and efficiently.

http://www.spearheadgrp.com/Spearhead Group

The Spearhead Group assists customers in the design and manufacture of systems to be used in the production of automotive interior and exterior trim components. There are many links within the site, such as robot programming, which may be of interest to the reader, but unfortunately on arrival have no content and just a heading.

http://www.airoil.com/Air Oil Systems, Inc.

Specialising in the supply of pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic and motion control equipment, Air Oil Systems, Inc. has an easy to navigate Website. Information about many of their products is available and a range of catalogues can be downloaded in pdf format. There are some nice pictures of equipment, but unfortunately some of the selected pages from their catalogues are slow to download, being large images. A good example of this unfortunate use of large images can be found on the Performer MK3 Robot information page, where the thumbnail images are given, but to read the specifications requires the full image.

http://www.industrial-robots.com/Schweisstechnik Industrial Robots

Schweisstechnik specialise in refurbishing and restoring redundant robots and automatic welding machines. Modern process application trends and control systems can be integrated into these machines in order to bring them up to date. The company also designs fully flexible robot welding system packages to the customers specifications. The Website has some nice pictures, but there is no explanation as to what they are, or the relevance of including them. Currently there is an appeal for redundant robots, with an offer topurchase certain makes, and an empty bulletin board from which files can be downloaded.

Advance Research & Robotics, Inc. was founded in 1987 and rebuild and service UNIMATE and PUMA robots. They are also an authorised distributor for Sony robots, systems integrator for Kawasaki and Comau robots and have a partnership with Cimetrix open architecture software. There are links to other sites of interest and specifications for some of the available products.
