Scientific Technologies, Inc. (STI) introduces the ESD5020 enabling switch device (Plate 3). CE listed to all applicable standards, provides the margin of safety needed during troubleshooting, set-up, programming or servicing of robotic or automated machinery when no other safety devices are possible or practical.

The ESD5020 is available with a wide variety of holder kits for easy integration into any number of applications. Two, three-position enabling switches are integrated into the trigger to provide the operator with constant control. The trigger's middle “enabled” position is easy to feel, and redundant switch contacts ensure that the machinery can be stopped by simply releasing or squeezing the trigger.

Optional switch buttons and LED indicators may be added for activating user defined functions and for providing visual status indication. Users can also select 10m cable terminations from a variety of connector types or integral.

The ESD5020 provides commissioning and maintenance engineers with enhanced safety during troubleshooting or set-up of automated machinery. It is easily integrated into a range of applications and provides the operator with the added comfort of being able to stop the machinery by simply releasing or squeezing the trigger.
