Projects/URBACT II – discover the main thematics of the new URBACT research projects

A total of 19 new URBACT projects – on the creation of URBACT Thematic Networks – started last May on the theme of sustainable urban development. Almost half of the projects focus on sustainable development as part of the priority themes of urban planning and urban renewal. They explore sustainable alternatives for urban development in relation to monitoring, planning, and financial tools as well as building type, participation, prioritizing processes and food. The other projects address the key issues facing European cities today, such as economic development and employment, health policy and city branding and marketing, and citizen innovation to improve public services.
