New Editorial Team

Emerald is delighted to announce the appointment of a new Editor, Reviews Editor and Editorial Board for Journal of Documentation.

The new Editor is Dr David Bawden, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Information Science at City University, London. Dr Bawden originally qualified in organic chemistry and has MSc and PhD degrees in information science. He was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Information Scientists in 1985, and is author of four books and 140 papers.

Dr Bawden was previously editor of IT Link (ASLIB) and Perspectives in Information Management (Bowker Saur), and of two monograph series. He is currently on the editorial boards of International Journal of Information Management and of ATLA (Alternatives to Laboratory Animals), and has previously served on the boards of Journal of Chemical Information and Computer Sciences and Expert Systems in Information Work.

A.E. (Tony) Cawkell has been appointed Reviews Editor. Tony is based in Buckinghamshire and is Director of CITECH Ltd. He has served as Editor of Information Services and Use and on the Advisory Boards of Journal of Information Science and Current Contents, Engineering, Technology and Applied Sciences.

A full listing of the Editorial Board is on page 360. The Editorial Board is international and includes representation from the leading research departments in the UK together with very well respected researchers and information professionals from around the globe.

Emerald is looking forward to a long and successful collaboration with the Editorial Team to establish Journal of Documentation as the leading international journal dealing with the principles, concepts and frameworks which underlie the study and practice of the library/information sciences.
