NVQ awarding bodies merge

Britain's largest higher education awarding body for management vocational qualifications has joined forces with professional organisation, the Institute of Management (IM).

The Management Verification Consortium's (MVC) merger with the IM will make the Institute the leading awarding body for management vocational qualifications (NVQs and SVQs) in the UK, providing a diverse range of courses through an extensive network of high quality centres.

Working with the MVC will enable the IM to expand its higher education market, working more closely with educational institutions such as Business Schools, in addition to the 200 plus colleges, training companies, corporate centres and other universities already delivering IM approved programmes.

Senior practitioners and academics from over 30 higher education institutions will work with the IM to develop new areas of expertise, knowledge and innovation in management education.

Managers studying at MVC approved centres will now have access to the IM's wide range of services, including management journals and books, careers advice, networking opportunities and the Management Information Centre, Europe's largest management library.
