Leading Editor awards
Emerald is delighted to congratulate Journal of Property Investment & Finance Editor Nick French on his Leading Editor award, presented as part of the Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence 2006. The Leading Editor awards acknowledge the high commitment editors have to their journals and their efforts to raise and maintain the standing of the journals.
Nick is Senior Lecturer and Donaldsons Fellow in Real Estate in the Department of Real Estate & Planning at the University of Reading. He is Director of Postgraduate Studies and teaches extensively in the areas of appraisal, valuation and corporate real estate. Through his involvement at Reading and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, he has been involved in advising the Government (ODPM), The Bank of England and IPD. He instigated the establishment of the European Real Estate Society in 1990 and organised the inaugural conference at Reading in 1991. He served as the Executive Director for seven years and helped to establish the society as the premier academic real estate grouping in the world.
Nick joined the Journal of Property Investment & Finance – the award winning international journal of the real estate industry – as Assistant Editor in 1983 and has been Editor since 1987. He also writes regularly for other professional and academic journals. His commitment to ensuring the highest possible quality of journal content and support and advice – both on the Journal of Property Investment & Finance and other Emerald titles – is greatly valued and appreciated.
