Summary reports on relevant published works Databases – how to develop them
The procedural database programming language PL/SQL (Oracle9i) is featured in a text, which promises to be a good guide to those who wish to aid any Oracle development. We are told, and we can confirm, that the guide is aimed at the more experienced user and developer rather than, as the title seems to infer, any potential developer.
The publishers write that the text concentrates on important and useful features that are described in detail and with some care. There are sections that cover topics such as record structures, cursors, SQL, and automonous transactions. It features many well-thoughtout examples. The text has been assessed as a useful reference and handy “shelf” text for the user who is well-versed in PL/SQL. It should be noted that the author takes pains to cover features of Oracle8 whilst, of course, describing the features of the latest version of Oracle.
