Editorial
Professor Stafford Beer, who died in August 2002, has been deservedly honoured worldwide for the enormous contributions to systems and cybernetics he made during his lifetime. He was one of the founder Honorary Patrons, with Professor Robert Vallée of this journal.
After consultations with Dr Allenna Lennard, family and friends we are able to confirm, as requested by his many admirers that his name should always be associated with this journal which he supported and contributed to over the last 31 years. It is therefore the wish of the Editorial Advisory Board, the Editors and with the permission of the publishers Emerald, that he remains Honorary Patron (in Memoriam).
Readers will have already received the Special Double Issue Vol. 33 Nos 3/4 2004 – Tribute to Stafford Beer, guest edited by Professor Raul Espejo which contains tributes and contributions from his colleagues, family and friends.
