Death of the Founder and first Director General of WOSC Professor John Rose 3 August 2007
An announcement of the death of Professor Rose who founded WOSC appears on the first pages of this journal. A full obituary will be included in the proposed Special Double Issue of Kybernetes, the official journal of the organisation of which he was the Founding Editor together with tributes from his colleagues and organisations that he founded and supported with such enthusiasm throughout his life.
The President of WOSC, Professor Robert Vallée, the Director General and the Directors have all expressed their sympathy to his family and to his colleagues and friends at this sad loss. Details of the memorial issue will be circulated in the near future and the issue published in Vol. 37/38 of this journal.
Professor Z. Bubnicki: “in memoriam” session, Wroclaw September 2007
Professor Robert Vallée represented the WOSC and this journal at the XVI International Conference on Systems Science and the Memorial Session for Professor Zdzislaw Bubnicki held on Wednesday 5 September 2007. A report of the conference and the Memorial session is included in this section. Invited and selected contributions to this conference will be published as a Special Double Issue of Kybernetes that is to be dedicated to Professor Bubnicki, and is being compiled at the Institute of Information Science and Engineering at Wroclaw University of Technology, Poland.
