Introduction to the special issue

Article Type: Novel approaches for systems modeling: part 2 From: Kybernetes, Volume 41, Issue 9

In part 2[1] of this special single issue, we present a collection of finely selected papers on novel ideas of modeling and consequent simulations on various systems across a wide spectrum of topics. These include agent-based supply chain, distorted images, network security, scheduling in high performance computing system, synchronization of uncertain chaotic systems, complex systems, evolving weighted networks, predictive control of vehicle yaw stability, fresh agricultural products on Weibull distribution, event memory episodic modeling, radar emitter signals, evolutionary event patterns, scheduling of multiproduct batch plants under demand uncertainty, and many other topics.

We would like to use this opportunity to thank the editors, and Professor Brian Rudall, in particular, of Kybernetes, for their support to publish this special issue. All the papers included in this issue are carefully selected and revised based on our communications through various channels over the past two or more years. After several rounds of rigorous, blind peer reviews, the authors took the responsibility to expand and rewrite their papers according to the reviewers’ suggestions in order to make their presentations of higher quality. Also, Dillon Forrest spent over two months editing these papers in order to make them more readable for a wider audience. So, as the guest editors of this issue, We would like to extend our appreciation to all these authors, colleagues and those who had volunteered their time and energy for their hard work and dedication.
