is the recipients of the journal's Outstanding Paper Award for Excellence for his paper

"Cigars, whiskey, and winning: a qualitative analysis of Kaltman's analysis of General Ulysses S. Grant's leadership"

which appeared in The Leadership & Organization Development Journal, Vol. 23 No. 1, 2002

Gerry Larsson is married with two sons. He took his PhD in psychology in 1983 and is a registered psychologist and psychotherapist. He is a former professor of health psychology at GÎteborg University, Sweden, and is currently professor of stress psychology at the Swedish National Defence College. Since 1997 he has been Head of the Leader Development and Personnel Management section in the Department of Leadership and Management at the Swedish National Defence College. He has written and published around 86 journal articles, 20 books, 23 chapters in books, and 345 research reports. The Swedish Armed Forces recently chose to adopt the Developmental Leadership model (presented in this award-winning paper for the Leadership & Organization Development Journal) as its model of leadership.
