Nutrition Society Summer Meeting

Nutrition Society Summer Meeting

The Nutrition Society holds a meeting each year during the summer. This year it was held at the University of Leeds, from the 2-5 July.

The theme was "The food chain – plants, animals and man". Day one was held as a joint meeting with the British Society for Animal Science and included sessions on the nutrition of farm animals out doors and fatty acids, forages and food quality. Day two focussed on plants, with sessions on micronutrient supplementation and on the exploitation of medicinal properties of plants by animals and humans. The final day examined human nutrition, with particular emphasis on protein intake and chronic disease and control of energy balance in health and disease.
