HACCP for growers – new guidance from CCFRA

HACCP for growers – new guidance from CCFRA

Three new case studies illustrating the use of HACCP in crop production are available from CCFRA. Published as supplements to CCFRA's well-established HACCP in Agriculture and Horticulture, the case studies look at potatoes, organic crops and generic safety issues. Each supplement provides flow diagrams of typical crop production processes and highlights the types of hazard that can arise including foreign bodies, micro-organisms and chemical contaminants and builds on the core descriptions of HACCP as it applies to crop production and as described in HACCP in Agriculture and Horticulture. Earlier supplements cover lettuce, apples and wheat. As well as those involved in growing the crops, the supplements will be of interest to fresh produce suppliers and packers, raw materials and ingredients suppliers, and food companies further along the supply chain.
