The Hospital Caterers Association Conference theme was “Its all about you” and the conference was attended by approximately 900 people.
Presentations included information on major issues in the NHS:
- •
sustainability was discussed with the need for hospitals to consider this as part of their purchasing strategy;
- •
protected mealtimes for patients and the benefit this has on the enjoyment of food;
- •
an update on the “better Hospital Food programme”;
- •
a presentation on improving patient satisfaction from meal times; and
- •
opportunities, benefits and responsibilities for the foodservice in the NHS.
There were also ample opportunities for networking as well as an interactive debate panel.
The conference was supported by a large exhibition on food and services.
