ILSI Europe is pleased to announce that the Concise Monograph on Food Allergy has been updated. This Concise Monograph describes and clarifies the differences between food allergy and other adverse reactions to food and takes the reader through the identification of allergies, the physiological mechanisms of the allergic response, and the prevalence of allergies. The Concise Monograph also provides valuable information on food allergens and living with food allergies. The role of the food industry with regard to labelling and risk reduction is also highlighted.
