While there is relatively little information on diet and cancer in this book, it may be a useful book for those nutritionists and dietitians who want to work with problems of cancer.

The book was written to accompany the BBC TV series “Living with Cancer” and covers symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of cases.

There are four parts to the book.

  1. 1.

Part 1 – the facts about cancer include who gets cancer and what it is.

  2. 2.

Part 2 – diagnosis and treatment covers coping with the diagnosis, treatments and supportive regimes

  3. 3.

Part 3 – discusses the various types of cancers and also includes a special section on cancers in children.

  4. 4.

    Part 4 – provides information and self‐help.

Information is provided in a simple manner with plenty of diagrams and illustrations.

One part of the book, which is particularly supportive, gives various stories of people who have cancer.
