The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has awarded grants of nearly a million pounds to help food caterers and food retailers improve food safety. This is the third year that the FSA has given these grants as part of its ongoing commitment to helping food businesses comply with EU hygiene regulations.

The agency published the results of a new study looking at the levels of acrylamide, and other chemicals produced as a result of food processing, in a range of UK food products.
