Seventeen companies exhibited on the Scottish Pavilion at the world's largest seafood show. Global seafood consumption grew from 137 million metric tons in 2006 to 140 million metric tons in 2007 and is expected to increase again to 143 million metric tons in 2008, according to a report from the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organisation.
