Calls for pre-9 p.m. ban on advertising of food high in fat, sugar and salt. The Public Health Minister is backing the introduction of a pre-9 p.m. watershed ban on the broadcast advertising of foods which are high in fat, sugar and salt content (HFSS).

It follows recent research from Newcastle University which suggests children are still being exposed to the same levels of advertising for such foods, despite Ofcom banning these commercials during programmes aimed at youngsters.
